Hastings Town Centre Public Realm and Green Connections project: Public to give their view on proposed plans for the town centre

The public are being asked for their views on the public realm and green connections project which could see green corridors buzzing with biodiversity connecting Hastings town centre to the seafront.

The Public Consultation runs from 22nd January to 1st March 2024.

East Sussex County Council, Hastings Borough Council and the Hastings Garden Town Team are working on plans which include greener connections for walking and cycling through the town and improvements to public spaces.  

The Public Realm and Green Connections project aims to complement the heritage of Hastings, creating spaces of public realm encouraging people to spend time and promoting wellbeing.

The Public Consultation on the proposed concept designs is open from 22nd January - 1st March 2024 and full details including the project brochure, public events and how you can respond to plans can be viewed on the East Sussex County Council website here.

The online survey can be viewed here and must be completed by 11.59pm on 1st March.

In 2021 Hastings was one of 101 UK towns to receive a share of the Government’s Towns Fund to kickstart the regeneration of the town with funding of £24.3m. The Town Deal Board has allocated £10m of Town Deal money to support this project.
